What is the Tarot?
In most people’s minds, “Tarot card reading” means a woman in flowing robes, leaning over
a small table in a candlelit room, foretelling impending doom.
But that’s not really what Tarot cards are about. In fact, they’re not even really meant to tell your fortune or future. The most powerful sources of information come from within; the Tarot aids in coming in contact with one’s Higher Self or The Holy Spirit.
Understanding ourselves will enable us to make our choices and decisions from a place of awareness and balance, rather than being blindly influenced by by forces we do not understand.
Types of Readings
There are actually two different types of Tarot readings that I do; Open readings and Chakra Readings.
Open readings address the larger aspects of your life rather than a specific problem area or question. They’re usually done on or surrounding major turning points in life, major milestone birthdays, Solstice or Equinox occasions, or anytime you feel you’re entering a new phase of life. You can somewhat direct the reading if you have a general area you want to cover, such as your career or health, but that’s as specific as the direction gets.
The human body contains hundreds of locations where there is focused and concentrated energy. There are, however, seven major energy centers, commonly refferred to as “chakras”. Chakra is a Sanskrit word which means “wheel”. The chakras are similar to wheels, in that they are spinning vortexes of energy. They are centers of force, located within our etheric body, through which we recieve, transmit and process life energies.
To understand the chakras and their relationship to our consciousness, is to better understand ourselves.
